Terms and Conditions and Site Guidelines
We ask all our guests to please read our site guidelines and the following Terms and Conditions before booking. We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Any such changes will take effect immediately when posted on the Website, at the Site, or otherwise brought to your attention. It is your responsibility to read the Terms each time you submit a Booking Request and any such request shall signify that you have accepted to be bound by the latest set of Terms and Conditions.
Responsibility
The person making the booking is responsible for the conduct of all the individuals in their party. Please ensure that you read this document. Failure to read and abide by it, is no excuse for breaching the following terms and conditions. By making a Booking Request you are deemed to have accepted these terms.
Booking Conditions
We reserve the right to decline or terminate the booking of any customers whose party make up or behaviour may be or come to be a nuisance, danger or annoyance to others. In such instances you may be asked to leave the campsite, and no refunds will be offered. With this in mind our policy is not to accept large group bookings or bookings made for celebratory parties, unless prior arrangement has been made with the owners of the site. We do not allow stag or hen parties.
Please note we are a quiet site and noise is to be kept to a minimal after 10pm and before 7am. No loud music.
Booking a camp pitch
- A 50% deposit is required on booking any camping pitch of 2 or more days
- 100% payment on a 1 nights stay
- On all pitches the outstanding balance is to be paid on arrival or before, by either cash, card or bank transfer.
- If you have to cancel any camping pitch prior to arrival the deposit is non-refundable unless we can re-let your holiday at the full asking price, less a £10 admin charge.
Or the booking may be re-arranged to another available date within the current season if there is availability. - If we have to cancel your stay through extreme or adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances, then we cannot accept any responsibility or liability for losses of costs this may occur to you but we will work with you to offer alternative dates for your stay or offer a full refund of your monies.
Booking of a Glamping Pitch
- If a booking of a Glamping pitch is made eight weeks or more before holiday is due to start a deposit of 25% is payable.
The balance of your Glamping break is due 8 weeks before your stay a reminder will be sent to you. If this payment is not. received then your holiday with us will be cancelled.
- If a Glamping pitch booking is made less than eight weeks before the holiday is due to start the full payment and cleaning cost must be paid in full on booking.
- If you cancel your Glamping break through your plans or circumstances changing your payment is non-refundable unless we can re-let your holiday at the full asking price, less a 10% admin charge. If we are unable to re-let your holiday and no alternative dates can be made with you, then no refund will be made.
- if we have to cancel your stay through extreme or adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances, then we cannot accept any responsibility or liability for losses of costs this may occur to you but we will work with you to offer alternative dates for your stay or offer a full refund of your monies.
- We recommend that you take holiday insurance to cover any potential loss.
Arrival and Departure times
- Glamping pitches are available from 3pm and to be vacated by 10am on day of departure, unless pre-arranged.
- Camping pitches are available from 1pm and to be vacated on day of departure by 12noon, unless pre-arranged.
- Please look on the back of the horse box for your allocated pitch and a site plan.
Weather
- Dropped Anchor can be subjected to harsh weather conditions, very strong winds and torrential rain at any time of the year.
- Please ensure your tent is robust and pitched correctly.
- Unfortunately we can not provide a refund if the weather has not been kind or not to your liking.
- Dropped Anchor cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss to your unit through bad weather.
- No refund will be given if you leave your pitch early through bad weather coming in or damage to your unit.
Groups
- We not to accept large group bookings or bookings made for celebratory parties, unless prior arrangement has been made with the owners of the site. We do not allow stag or hen parties.
- We are a family, couples and singles campsite, and do not allow groups of young adults/teens.
- We understand that people like to come away together 2 or 3 pitches so please email us directly for availability and this is at the discretion of the owner.
- You must keep noise down especially when sitting around a campfire in the evening as noise and voices travel, we want all guests to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay we are a quiet site so minimal noise after 10pm
- Groups are at the discretion of the owners and if causing any form of nuisance or inconsiderate behavior then you would be asked to leave the site with no refund given.
Visitors
- If any campers are expecting visitors please be courteous and let us know prior to them arriving so we know who is on site at all times.
- We ask that if visitors use the toilets in the facilities area then a small donation is made to the local animal charity that we are supporting.
- Visitors are not allowed to use the shower facilities.
Noise
- We are a quiet site and ask that you respect that and to keep noise down if you want to party through the night and play loud music then this is not the site for you, please choose another campsite.
- We ask you to be considerate to all your fellow campers and to the wildlife, the only noise to be heard after 10pm is the low murmuring of guests enjoying the night sky and the twinkling lights over the sea.
- Please no loud music.
Campfires & BBQ's
- Fire pits are provided on all pitches and we ask that you pitch your tent/caravan/campervan approximately 3meters away from the fire, and only wood to be burnt no rubbish or paper as this can float on to neighbouring pitches.
- Pitches that have the old pig trough firepits these must be lifted of the ground onto the bricks provided (so to stop grass burn)
- All fires are at your own risk and Dropped Anchor accepts no responsibility for any property, losses, damages or injuries occurred.
- We sell logs and kindling on site in an honesty box, we ask you to purchase this from us rather than bring your own.
- Fires should not be left unattended at any time and when retiring for the evening the fire is to be fully extinguished.
- Please read the camp fire extinguishing information on the notice board.
- Please be mindful and supervise children and pets around the campfires.
- You are very welcome to have BBQ's here at Dropped Anchor but please use the bricks and slabs available to lift them of the ground ( please no grass burn)
- Please dispose of your BBQ and coal in the correct bins in the facilities area.
- Please empty your fire pit before you vacate your pitch, there is an ash bin in the facilities area with a metal bucket and spade.
Smoking
- Please note NO Smoking in our Glamping options
- Please also no smoking in our showers and toilets and the facilities area
- Please dispose of cigarette ends appropriately.
Dogs
- Dogs are very welcome at Dropped Anchor but we ask you to please keep them on a lead at all times and to clean up after them, please no dogs on the beds or chairs in our Glamping options.
- Dogs are free of charge but we are asking for a donation of at least £2 per dog per stay to go towards a local animal charity of our choice (information on the notice board)
- Doggie stop area is by the toilet facilities with a poop bin and fresh drinking water.
- Please do not let your dogs be a nuisance to other campers (some people do not like dogs or are scared of them)
- Please if your dog has a tendency to wonder off your pitch make sure they are on a lead and not causing a nuisance to any neighbouring pitch.
- Dogs must not be left unattended in our glamping accommodation in caravans/cars/tents, if you are going somewhere that is impractical for you to take them, we may be able to offer Doggie day care, Please ask!!!
Facilities
- We have 2 shower washrooms that are spacious with free hot water we ask you to please clean the shower room after your visit leaving it clean and tidy for the next guests just how you would like to find it, bacterial spray and cloths are provided.
- The showers are free of charge but we do ask you to keep them short, we are on a water meter.
- We have a lovely quirky shepherds hut providing 2 extra toilets. (please note there are steps up to these toilets)
- Please do not put wipes, nappies and sanitary products down any of the toilets please use the bins provided.
- Please help us to keep the toilet and shower facilities clean by leaving them as you would like to find them anti-bacteria spray and cloths in all rooms.
- We have a gentleman’s wee house behind the shower room with a rainwater wee flush, if all our gents young and old could use this as much as possible please.
- We have a rain water wet suit wash and a sandy toe and paw 🐾 wash in the facilities area, this helps to keep the toilet and shower facilities clean and free from sand (please use them)
- We have a chemical disposable point (CDP)with a hose to flush out.
- We ask you please to recycle your waste, we have recycling bins that are all clearly labelled glass, tins, plastic, cardboard, what is not recyclable can be placed in the general waste bins.
- Dish wash area is at the rear of the facilities area with lovely hot and cold running water, please do not wash dishes in the toilets or shower rooms.
- We have 2 drinking water points on site which are clearly marked, south west water is our provider so please recycle those plastic drinking bottles as it’s all mains water.
- We have a large recreational area in the middle of the field for everyone to enjoy, kids, big kids and adults, its an ideal place for ball games, kite flying, frisbee and tick but please be courteous to your fellow campers and respect there space. In this area we also have a wild area for our birds, bees and butterflies, this section is not a play area.
- Please note that the facilities area is not a play area and children should be accompanied by an adult.
Guidelines
- Speed limit is 5 miles an hour on site (children playing)
- Dropped Anchor is a quite site so we ask you to be courteous to other campers and keep noise to a minimal.
- All facilities are used at your own risk so please be patient and respectful to others.
- Dropped Anchor accepts no responsibility for any injury incurred on site,
- Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times.
- We have no Electricity on site but we do offer a phone and small power pack charging facility at a small cost.
- All the lighting around Dropped Anchor is low wattage as its solar or battery operated so we suggest you bring a torch.
- Please do not climb on the walls or fencing surrounding Dropped Anchor and please keep out of the fields surrounding Dropped Anchor as they are all privately owned by our local farmers.
- There are many footpaths in the area please keep your dogs on a lead and try not to stray from the path. There can be livestock in the fields please close all gates after you and use the countryside code.
We care for you
- Dropped Anchor is adopting the World Health Organization (WHO’s) standard recommendations and follow the government’s regulations to reduce exposure to and transmission of a range of illnesses.
